Music to Help your Mental Health.

They say music heals.

For me personally, music has been such an integral part of my life. Everything is connected to music.
When I was younger, my alarm clock played the local radio to get me up and ready for school.
80s pop and rock music will always be a part of my musical DNA growing up.

In High school, I could not study or read a book without music; sometimes, I would get into the habit of playing the same album when I was reading a novel - It helped me create an atmosphere for the book I was reading and helped my imagination paint a vivid picture of the characters.

As I got older and life started to take over, I didn’t listen to music (outside of work as a DJ) the way I used to.

I forced myself to play classical and ambient music when I needed to focus on something intensely.

Then I started travelling a lot. I would curate playlists on Spotify that I would play on my travels - music that would calm me down during take-off and landing and songs that I could easily fall asleep or relax to on the plane.

A few years ago, I started creating playlists for clients. These playlists varied from songs for travelling, songs to play when you move into a new apartment, to songs for empowerment. I enjoyed using my knowledge of music to put together these playlists and discover new music.

Below is one of my favourite playlists I curated called “The Power Trip” - I described it as “A POWER playlist for Creatives.” These songs helped me through some challenging mental Health moments. This is also the playlist I put on when I want to remind myself how grateful I am to have made it this far in my journey as an entrepreneur and a creative.

This is my gift to all my amazingly talented creatives who may be searching for inspiration, trying to get over a creative block questioning their existence in their community, or just needing a quick music break.

Share this playlist with a creative you may know who may need some music therapy.

Enjoy!

A POWER playlist for Creatives.
