EVENT RECAP: The Canadian Opera Company Centre Stage Competition 2023

I had the most beautiful time at the 10th annual @canadianopera Centre Stage Competition.

A few days ago, I randomly had a reflective moment and started to think about my high school theatre arts days - shout out to Cardinal Carter Academy of the Arts, class of 2000, whoop whoop! - and went down a bottomless rabbit hole that consisted of Brahms, Bach, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, John Rutter, choral music sheet music and music theory…see, I'm nostalgically spiralling again, lol.

I say all this to say that last night brought back so many good feelings and reminded me how much I love Opera and the theatre.

If you have never experienced the opera before, I highly suggest it. It won't disappoint.

Congratulations to winner @elizabethstgelais who won the hearts of both the audience (she was voted audience favourite) and the judges. Your song selection had me in tears from the first line. All the best to you! ✨
