sometimes we assume that the people who read our blogs are just as internet savvy as we are. if i could count the amount of times people have hit me up on facebook asking me how to unzip mixtapes or songs that i have posted and if i could put a dollar value to every time i was asked, id be taking a vacation to the canary islands right now.

so to avoid all future repeat questions, i have decided to put together this instructional on how to unzip file to your PC (or MAC).

1. Download software such as WinZip [for PC], Stuff-It Expander [for MAC] or UnRarX [for MAC] from a trusted download site like download.com, winzip.com, or UnRarX.com.
2. Install the [WinZip] software.
3. Once software is installed, download the .zip or .rar file of your choice.
**tip** i always make sure that anything I download goes straight to my desktop because its easy to find and it never gets lost in a sea of folders :)
4. Double click on the downloaded folder. [depending on the software you download, its as simple as this step]
5. Select all of the files you want extracted to another file whether it be in itunes or a separate music folder you have created for yourself.
6. Press the “Extract” button at the top. Another window will appear. Choose the folder you want to put the files in, and press extract.
7. Go to that folder and you will see that the files have been extracted.

Pretty easy huh?
Don’t let .zip files or .rar intimidate you, its just another way of compressing files for fast and easy download process.
