Recently, my friend DJ Lissa Monét hit me off with this new mixtape, entitled, “Fall Again”. Just like every mixtape I’ve done with my friends who DJ, I gave her complete free reign to do what she felt was right with the concept of falling again. I’ve needed a pick-up for some time now, while going through extended bouts of depression and reoccurring issues with suicide. When I first played it, I was shocked at some of the song selections, but was humbled by how open Lissa was with the music. If you listen to each track, and each lyric in this mixtape, there is a message and a communication that is happening between her and her music, and her music and our audience. This is the power of people who create, and she displays it beautifully on this mixtape.

it was an honor to do this mixtape as it helped me through a very disturbing period in my life mentally. when i connected with be about this mixtape, there were mixed emotions. not fully confident about song selection, i felt like i was making this mixtape more for me than for anyone else. but then i continued to listen to it and took in the words to each song and realized how it could effect anyone in any situation in their lives and finally decided to let be hear it.  saddened at the fact that bryan and i were eerily going through the same exact turmoil inside but encouraged to know that we went through it together and supported each other through the pain in our time of need. if that is the end result of the power of music then i will do this forever.
