yeah so i blogged about this yesterday and boom boom pow diplo & switch delivers.

The album isn’t a remix-tape, but a mixtape with some cuts of electronic bliss. it was a little refreshing to hear lady laroux go nice and easy on the patois on “can’t stop now” it’s a pretty smooth ride until about halfway, when rusko, makes a guest appearance and drops off a bucket full of head banging dirty face dirty bass.

either way, download and enjoy and remember…..

Last week Monday i attended the Marc Ecko Stylus DJ awards and took home 2009 Female DJ of the Year!

What a humbling and amazing experience. Last year I was nominated and didn’t win – props to DJ MelBoogie who took it home last year. This year was my second nomination and my first win and the only thing I wanted to do after receiving my award was go home and finish a mixtape.

Some people call me a workaholic. But this isn’t work to me. This is my life, I love it and there’s no turning back . All the amazing people I’ve met, and have worked with have made me a stronger, smarter DJ, and business woman and I just want to do it all over again.

My most amazing friend and someone I look up to – Shannae Ingleton of What Women Want – basically remembered a conversation we had two years ago and couldn’t believe how far we have come today. Reading this made me realize exactly why I put up with all the obstacles and (honestly) bullshit that come with this industry. Its no walk in the park, but Shannae’s blog post really hit home for me.

so cheers to good music, good friends and a GREAT fucking country.
