i dont have any kids, but if this is how i feel about writing this blog, then just imagine how proud her actual mum feels about this 17 year old wonder kid.
i met karla when she was 16 and running the drake fan site. something she just picked up and started doing on her own because not only was she a super fan of the rapper, but she saw something in him that no one else saw at the time – superstardom.
that was kind of what drew me to karla too. she was just a kid who was passionate about her craft [graphic and web design] and so super focused, she kind of reminded me of myself when i first got involved in the music industry.
a couple months into getting to know karla, i had a dream that i was reading an article about her in a magazine – VIBE mag to be exact. i called her immediately and told her, “you are gonna be big time, i just know it.”
her 2009 accomplishments are summed up in this toronto star article and was perfectly timed to go to press on the 2nd day of the new year.
