i had a dream i was robbed last night.

i had just come in from a lil wayne concert – weird, but whatever -  and i was a little sloshed and decided i would go straight to bed…on my way to the bedroom, i saw this “kid” – maybe about 16/17, slumped over drunk in my bathroom. i didnt have the energy to deal with it at the moment, so i locked my apartment door from the inside so he couldnt leave and so the drunk little mystery man could explain himself in the morning….

in the dream i was awaken by a phone call, a good friend of mine wanted to come by and pick up his camera that he had supposedly left in my bag…while i was waiting on my friend to come, i checked my room to see if anything was missing – nothing looked out of place or discarded.

so finally my homeboy shows up and im standing in the doorway talking to him, when the kid in the bathroom jumps out and starts running towards the door. i start yelling and cursing and he tells me it wasn’t him, but his friends…all of a sudden a group of kids around the same age come out of the elevator and start handing me shit – it was all my online shopping purchases! they started handing me opened packages and delivery notices and apologizing profusely….

then one of the girls tells me that they are a singing group – i cant remember the name, but they had one in the dream – that went double platinum and were just waiting on their cheque to arrive. i said, ” you just went double platinum, you dont need to be robbing people. do this again and you’ll never see that money.” they thanked me for not calling the police and went back into the elevator. my friend who came to pick up his camera left with them.

after i went inside, i called my BFF, and just broke down on the phone, i couldn’t my get words out until he asked, ” lissa money, whats going on?” and i managed to whisper…. “ive just been robbed.”

i woke out of my dream realizing that i actually physically whispered the words, and headed to my dream dictionary:

Robbery
To dream that you have been robbed, denotes that you are experiencing an identity crisis or you are suffering some sort of loss in your life. Alternatively, you may feel that someone has stolen your success or has taken credit for something you did.

identity crisis, not so much, but loss, most definitely…the fact that i got my gifts back gives me some sort of hope.
