I know everyone is writing letters to you right now, but this is the only way I can express to you how much you have had an impact on my life.

I dont remember the Jackson 5, but my parents do. I remember being terrified out of my mind every halloween when the “Thriller” video would come on and Id run and hide behind my mum and she’d say, “That’s little Michael from the Jackson 5! stop your foolishness.” You have connected people – young, old, rich, poor, no matter what nationality or race, your music was and still is a universal language.
There have been people who have become successful trying to emulate you. You have inspired the best. you lived through them even through life….that’s how original and innovative you were. Lets not even talk about your style game.
I remember watching that Jackson 5 movie that came out on television years and years ago and coming up with my own conclusions on your life. It never took away from your talent. I’m actually watching that scene right now when you are in the studio working with Berry Gordy and are singing the words to “Human Nature”…man you are magical.
“Wanna Be Starting Something” was that song that started a party, “Liberian Girl ” or any ballad you sang ended it. Your album cover for “Dangerous” – phenominal. The video for “Leave Me Alone” touched me. I sang “Free The world” in my elementary school choir, dedicated “Man In The Mirror” to my dad, busted my lip trying to do the lean in “Smooth Criminal”, and spun “You Rock My World” in my warm up set when I first started DJing.
I just wanted to tell you how much you have impacted my life.
I’m mourning for you as if I lost a family member of my own.
My heart goes out to your family.
I’ll always remember you.
